As the New Year turns, it is never too early to start thinking about your updo hairstyle for that ever important night for high school students all across the country. There are a number of fabulous prom updos for the 2012 season that will suit your and your personality perfectly. Prom can be one of the most special nights in a young person’s life. With all the hoopla that goes with it, prom is a time to celebrate with friends and enjoy youthfulness. Prom is also the night where everyone wants to look their very best. This question is easily answered. You want to go with an updo hairstyle for prom! Sure we may be biased and we love the updo, but in our opinion, prom updos are a must. Updos are the perfect choice for any formal occasion, especially prom. On a night like this, you want to look your absolute best and you want everyone to notice! 2011 was a big year for the updo, and 2012 promises to be even bigger. Here are a few of our favorite updos that should be great for prom in 2012. Messy Bun Updo – You can never go wrong with a messy updo. Don’t let the name fool you, if done right, a messy updo can give a flirty yet sophisticated look that is sure to stun. Many young Hollywood stars have been rocking the messy bun lately. Demi Lovato has been spotted with this ‘do’ on occasion and she makes it look fabulous. Top Knot Or High Bun Updo – We have noticed that this look is really hot right now. It is a simple but very sexy look. You can add some accessories and keep the hair all up or decide to style the sides and release some swooping locks if you desire. We have recently seen Whitney Port look amazing with this style. Braided Updo – Braided updos were very trendy last year and we expect them to be hot in 2012 as well. Adding braids to any updo will add that touch of unique that should help you stand out from the crowd. Loose Side Ponytail Updo - We think that the side ponytail is going to catch on this year. Loose updos are great for prom. You will most likely be very active and working up a bit of a sweat on the dance floor.
