Her gorgeous updos have influenced tweens all over the world. Lauren’s styles have been emulated for prom by young girls for years dating back to her first appearance on the TV show Laguna Beach. Her soft braided updos have become her trademark hairstyle and no celebrity at the moment wears them better than her. It’s hard to believe that it was 6 years ago that the updos of Laguna Beach came onto the MTV scene. Now with the final season of The Hills upon us, we’re looking forward to seeing Lauren expand into some new roles (and hairstyles!). Lauren Conrad Messy UpdosLC wears the messy half up half down updo brilliantly. She has gorgeous natural waves and loves to add subtle accessories to her hair. Whether it be a flower, headband or braid (yes a braid can be an accessory!), LC uses them perfectly to add a touch of elegance. In the image below we love the messy bun which gives a soft feel as the curled strands frame her face. This is a perfect choice for prom as we predict messy updos will be a very popular choice in 2010.
LC Braided UpdosThe LC braid has been featured in several season premieres and Lauren can be credited with starting this trend across the nation. The braid has become her signature hairstyle and when coupled with an updo, looks very flirty and cute. In the picture below, Lauren has her hair pulled back in a low messy updo with soft curls and a few loose bangs. The tiny Boho braid adds a cute touch as she tucks it nicely behind her ear. This is a great choice for wedding, prom, homecoming or any lesser formal party.
Here Lauren incorporates a thicker braid wrapped up in a bun. She’s wearing this as a casual look but a nice accessory could make this a more formal style.
Here is another more casual updo for LC but as you can see, a simple braid can do wonders for updos. This is a tighter Bohemian braid that is a perfect summer style at it keeps the hair out of the face.
While we think the braid trend will continue throughout 2010, we also are expecting some new styles from Lauren. As she begins to step out of The Hills shadow, we look for her to create a new identity as an actress. Updo Guru Celebrity Trivia Tidbit: Lauren got a ‘J’ tattoo for her ex-boyfriend Jason which she ultimately had changed to an “L”. Good move as Jason (from the show Laguna Beach) was just arrested for a 6th time!
